I sure am looking forward to a cool down, this heat has been relentless.
Most of the trees are turning straight to brown, I was hoping for some pretty fall foliage.
Yep, same here, and the usual drive to West Virginia won't be as nice either since it's the same story there.

Yeah we’re about to have another round of mortality with big foliage.

There was a winter around the year 2000 that a drought occurred December into January. Awful. This is one of the worst and most discouraging boughts of weather in my life. I’m used to dealing with warm to mildly hot well into October but nie this time at the end of a long hot dry summer I’m mentally and physically done with it. Anything to get my mind off of it but I went out this morning to go to work before dawn just heat and humid air hit me in the face ( I guess it was close to dew point) and it being October 2nd just made me think when is this going to end.

I do remember when we had an extremely dry and hot summer (2007) yet still had gorgeous color in November.
However, I’m not sure how long the dry and hot part lasted....

If I reach 100 on my car’s thermometer, I don’t usually take it as seriously as when my weather station reads 100! But wow, eek and ew!!

I’m afraid if we get a thunderstorm that lightning is going to cause the whole state of Alabama catch on fire!!

Good morning fall. Woke up to temps in the 50's this morning in Northwest Arkansas. Nice crisp air! Makes me wanna find a girlfriend and pick some apples. Where is my pumpkin spice latte?

It was an awesome weather day here in Wedowee with frequent cloud to ground lightning storms.

We finally got some decent rainfall. Surrounding PWS's are showing 2+ inches since yesterday afternoon, which I think would cover most of the normal October rainfall for this area. LOL. We did get one thunderstorm during the last week of September that delivered around 0.5 in., but the rest of September was dry and everything looked parched.

Goodness. Big front comes through midwest tomorrow producing severe weather followed by plunging cold temps. After a LONG hot summer, my mind is struggling to even accept these Okie temps for this Friday morning (10/11) as accurate. Crazy.

Those are some pretty cold feel like temperatures.

I totally missed the "feel like" phrase in the caption there. I am conditioned to seeing the term "wind chill". This front is going to bring some really strong winds with it. Isobars are packed very tight as the front sweeps through.

I don't believe these are 'feel like' temps for Friday morning, are they?
