Fall(ish) Weather 2019

I totally missed the "feel like" phrase in the caption there. I am conditioned to seeing the term "wind chill". This front is going to bring some really strong winds with it. Isobars are packed very tight as the front sweeps through.

I don't believe these are 'feel like' temps for Friday morning, are they?

Are you the State Farm mayhem man?

Are you the State Farm mayhem man?

Hey, don't shoot the messenger! This first major COLD front of the season is certainly going to feel like mayhem to the physical senses of those who get blasted by it. Throw in blustery winds and it is not going to be fun except for the most diehard winter fans.

Meanwhile in NW Arkansas we have a Freeze Watch for this weekend.

URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Tulsa OK
248 PM CDT Thu Oct 10 2019

...FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 32 possible.

* WHERE...Portions of east central, northeast and southeast
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.

* WHEN...From late Friday night through Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...These conditions could kill plants and and other
tender vegetation that are left outdoors or unprotected.

The temperature is nice but we still aren’t getting any rain. Almost the entire metro area is still in moderate drought so I guess this isn’t surprising news:

Are y’all getting a decent rainfall? Nothing to write home about in Central Alabama...

Light rain in Tuscaloosa. Not encouraged by Euro guidance that keeps the heaviest rainfall on Tuesday south of the I-20/59 corridor. We’ll see what mesoscale model trends are.

It's trying to be fall here.

Looks like the only people getting beneficial rain in Alabama today are from around Montgomery to the AL/FL line. Yet, Spann rolls with his widespread rain for the whole state forecast anyway.
Yeah the totals from just a couple days go are going to Forecasted Convective Amplification Deficiency hard. But we should see some lighter rain later today.

We’re finally supposed to get some rain tomorrow and then again early next week. The fall colors haven’t been nearly as nice as they are most years because of the drought. Lots of leaves just shriveling up and dying instead.

We’re forecast to get about an inch today, which would basically double our total from the last two months combined.

Florida Halloween COLD snap. I'm sure most Floridians hope this does not verify. It will be a Trick or Treat to remember if it does!
Temps in the low 40s all the way down to Disney.
