The ignore button is pretty useful FYISorry, I’m honestly trying not to, but I can’t bite my tongue around these types of “contributions”. This type of stuff used to be limited to weather weenie Twitter and YouTube comments, and now it’s here. It brings down the quality of the discussion and I can’t just sit back and not say anything.
Done and done. The ignore button is pretty useful FYI
Buckeye's not starting fights with anybody; he's just calling out BS or non-contributing members when he sees it. Also, tornado examiner does nothing but complain on every board he's on, it's not just Buckeye noticing that.I mean... I don't disagree that he should work on making more useful contributions but at the same time I feel you've kinda been TRYING to start fights with people lately. I'd try to bring my blood pressure down if I were you.
That has already been established.Buckeye's not starting fights with anybody; he's just calling out BS or non-contributing members when he sees it. Also, tornado examiner does nothing but complain on every board he's on, it's not just Buckeye noticing that.
Who said anything about you deleting your account? Just take your time to make interesting and informative posts. That's all they're asking, no need to "delete your account and never come back".okay. goodbye. im clearly not wanted here so ill just delete my account never come back.
if im not wanted here i can leave and never come back...i never thought i'd become the enemy for being a "weather weenie"...
ill delete my account and everything
Just come across this... I initially thought it was fake news, but account is verified. Looks very exciting. Any thoughts?
Not trying to throw shots, but in the sig tornado event threads, that’s all he’s been doing is complain about the ratings, every time I saw him in the Mayfield tornado thread all he did was complain, he complained about the newnan rating which I can understand, but complaining about every single tornado that doesn’t get rated properly and acting like a child doesn’t get anyone nowhere, he needs to realize this website is for upcoming meteorologists and meteorologists who are trying to learn more about nature. Not complain about something that doesn’t go his way.I’m sorry but would you just can it for once? You’re genuinely obnoxious, and honestly haven’t been contributing anything of value. Nobody wants to see your childish all-caps ranting, and you are single-handedly bringing down the quality of discussion here.
I understand the frustration behind his posts now, to which I extend an apology to buckeye for being overly sensitive about that. However if tornado examiner can change the demeanor of his posts to something interesting and informative, I wouldn't mind seeing him as a regular member here. Agreed 100%I understand the frustration behind his posts now, to which I extend an apology to buckeye for being overly sensitive about that. But with that said I think we can agree this part of the discussion has run its course. Let's get back on topic.
I hope not but it would not surprise me in the least.I wonder if there's a possibility that they'll simply abandon EF-5 and leave EF-4 open ended.
The wording is pretty ambiguous, but my guess would be that point refers to the new ASCE 7-22 standard. This year's update adds a section on ASCE standards specifically for tornado wind loads, which involves estimating wind speed hazards for various areas that are used to inform building codes. Basically the same thing they do for hurricanes.I’m trying to figure out what they mean by “This will become an ASCE standard on rating tornado wind speeds.”
Does this mean the updated version will rely even more heavily on the opinions of engineers? If so, that could mean things are about to get even worse. If that’s the case, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have decided to cap the single-family home DI at EF4 or something. I hope I’m wrong. Anyone else know how to interpret this?
