Someone said southern TN was the sweet spot today...looks like a good call so far. All the cells on the struggle bus throughout MS/AL then BOOM!

A cell that is just east of Florence is exhibiting a strong couplet and BWER.

It’s 59 degrees is north east Mississippi, 5 miles north east of Burnsville. Stable as can be up here.

Yeah so far our low for Birmingham today is 71. There has never been a 24 hr min temp 70+ In meteorological winter in Bham. In December 1991 (my High School senior year) we had a 70/1 am low but dropped to 69 before midnite. So these temps in & of themselves amaze others out there & me. I guess we wait & see if the storms knock us back below 70 before midnite.

I'm surprised too. In fact, it looks like it's cycling back up.

Unless I'm missing something this is all still a good bit earlier than models had discrete activity so I'm still pretty impressed; the open warm sector convection is cellular, organized, and rotating instead of absolute junk and that is definitely cause for attention

Yet they didn’t even extend the warning and it expired 5 minutes after they called it a confirmed tornado.

Couple of wind damage reports from northern Limestone County, AL when the now-TN cell moved through (unwarned) about half an hour ago. Based on their location near where the inflow region/updraft base passed, could have been a tornado.
