It’s very common to see storm systems Forecasted Convective Amplification Deficiency, it’s rare that one over performs, a moderate risk was issued, but I don’t think anyone expected this .

When a death toll hit those types of numbers from a singular tornado…you know it’s probably top 1%. EF4/EF5 seems like a certainty.

Note the mature tree at upper right that has been reduced to a debarked stub. This is only seen in top-end events like Smithville, El Reno, Moore, et al.

Trying to get a bit of work done so I haven't had time to look around much, but I'm pretty concerned about the Princeton area, too. Based on the radar last night, at least, it sure looked like the tornado tore directly through a pretty large development on the southern edge of town.

I agree about the concern for Princeton. If I recall correctly, the KY governor said there was loss of life in Dawson Springs as well. It's going to take days to comb through the affected areas. So many different towns impacted.

Based on initial information, Mayfield KY looks like a definite EF5 candidate. Defiance MO and Bowling Green KY may well be rated low-end EF4.

Thanks to this image, I just realized that the lone little storm that formed outside Little Rock last night was what eventually turned into the Quad-State monster.
