A Lauderdale County man has died as a result of the coronavirus. He was treated at Huntsville Hospital. I’m not sure when the numbers will update to reflect this latest death.

I am not sure what to make of this story so far, maybe it’s good news. If it’s true then we may have crashed the economy from hype and panic. But looking at Italy, I know that flattening the curve was necessary.

I think that original prediction was if we did nothing and continued with mass gatherings like concerts, sporting events, etc. We are no longer on that course because we are now taking drastic steps in the direction of mitigating the spread.

Meanwhile in Mississippi, their governor is about to get a lot of people sick and killed.

The United States is now number 1 for total Coronavirus cases surpassing all countries on Earth.

Worldwide, unreported cases outnumber reported cases. That’s just my gut feeling based on common sense anecdotal observations.

Yes I have to agree. I remember coming across videos of people literally dropping to the ground all over Wuhan on twitter back in January. Like, dozens of people dropping like flies. If that's just what was caught on a several second twitter video...then what aren't we seeing? Especially when you have an authoritarian regime controlling the media...both online and broadcast.

I can't thank the churches, community organizations, family of healthcare workers and food companies enough for their donations to the Huntsville Hospital (and undoubtedly other hospitals) emergency department. We've gotten lunch and dinner pretty much daily from these thoughtful people. Church of the Highlands sent incredible snacks, fruit tarts, cheeses and sausages; we've gotten food from Chick-fil-A, Longhorn Steakhouse, Taco Mama, Pizza Hut, Newks (plus many more) and coffee from Starbucks.
Other organizations have sent N95's, surgical masks and gowns.

It's immensely generous and we appreciate it so very much. Especially for those of us who work in the highly contagious unit, it makes the day so much better.
