Severe WX April 3-6 Severe weather

Wow, pretty high probs on that watch! I'll just say the SPC has done a fantastic job this week with a really awkward, bizarre and complicated setup! The models (including mine) have struggled at times, but the SPC has done very well all things considered.


On that note, I'm running my model for today and tomorrow now. Results coming in a few hours probably. I suspect today could have some fireworks, but tomorrow looks to be more muted just looking at the models and forecast...but never count Dixie out.

Ok seriously the weather channel is starting to piss me off. My area is clearly under a substantial threat of severe weather and I swear they always try down play the threat for this area and It’s so annoying.

Apologies for personal rant. I swear it just always happens. Back in May when the derecho came through, they forecasted a couple of showers with some pop up thunderstorms possible. And then guess what happened later.

The Weather Channel is pretty openly a joke among most in the weather community. Long gone are the times of Bob, Steve, Greg, and others that were very revered. They've gone the way of TLC (The Learning Channel...since WHEN?), the History channel, Discovery, and other channels focusing on the reality TV fad, viewership, and are pretty openly a business, not a public service. There once was a time TWC was largely considered a public asset and a large reason to maintain and have cable, and while everyone knew TWC was a business, its money-making ventures were eloquently woven into the messaging and hidden in the background. Now, important weather takes a backseat to advertisements, reality TV shows, and quick social media-driven bits than dedicated following the weather.


ANYWAYS...back to the topic at hand...lovely weather we're having, eh?
