Severe WX April 3-6 Severe weather

IMG_1279.png

Bad news.. I didn’t know a tornado killed someone yesterday. 4 EF2s yesterday early morning (one crossed into AL).

Also, wow. JAN is quick on surveys.

And from initial reports it looks like the Selmar, TN tornado has unfortunately become the deadliest tornado of the year so far. 6 deaths have been reported. Let’s hope the number doesn’t continue to rise.

As someone stated earlier, it really is a wonder that more larger cities weren't impacted by some of these tornadoes. Instead, we got tornadoes that multiplied suffering to small, rural communities. I don't think us in Tennessee have seen tornadoes on such a scale as we did last week, in a long time. It's a shock to the system after going so long. I know after last week, I was actually exhausted because of the weather. I don't think it's ever made me so darn tired before.

It has genuinely been so exhausting dealing with all of this severe weather. It’s came right at us like a freight train at full speed and really hasn’t stopped until today. Thankfully, we all get a much needed rest from severe weather!

Selmer is the biggest town in McNairy county with its 4000 ish population. No other larger towns around it in the county. Bad odds it got struck directly .. @AJS

So far, looks like 110 confirmed tornadoes from this past outbreak. Genuinely insane to have two outbreaks with well over 100 tornadoes happen so close to each other. What an insane season so far.

I can't remember if this or something like it has already been mentioned here (and if so, I apologize in advance and would like to have links to whatever post(s) here already mention it), but I just came across this and thought it was interesting enough to share:

The line in the Weird Al parody song "Amish Paradise;" "Raised a barn on Monday, soon I'll raise another" wasn't a lie.

My Pennsylvania county was, for many years, the only county in central PA with no Amish residents. I don't remember why. They were here in small numbers before that. Anyway, several families began moving here from Lancaster County in the past few decades.

To put it mildly, the above is 100% Amish. I've worked around both them and various other sorts of folks. I've seen 2 Amishmen do what it would take 10 "English" to do in a day. It's simply preposterous.
