Severe WX April 3-6 Severe weather

The good news is that's basically the middle of nowhere so I'd be surprised if it hit much other than trees. Would've been a big problem if it were a few miles further north/west.
So, there was a convoy of us heading north on I-16 back from vacation and we got a little too close to the southern edge of the circulation as it crossed and snapped a few trees. There is a little Reed Timmer in all of us. My wife hates me now, but it was wild.

Outside of the high risk day, Alabama has gotten relatively lucky so far this year
Even the March 15th high risk day played out more favorably for Alabama than it could have given what was modeled going in.

The messy storm mode and the rain shield helped prevent a real long-tracked, violent tornado threat. Instead, we ended up with an event that mirrored the evening portions of April 28, 2014 and Easter 2020 where we still had significant tornadoes, but the ceiling of what could have happened wasn’t fully realized in the same way it was across southern Mississippi.
