I'd take what Weed Trimmer says with a grain of salt...considering he retweeted a 9-month-old video earlier claiming it was today. Things are progressing nearly as forecasted. The capping inversion is weakening and that's why you're seeing storms now developing in bands ahead of the main push behind it.

I expect the cap to begin to break once the two upper system phase- this will cause the divergence to become much stronger and colder air aloft will move in,
