For the most part, yes.So LCL heights get lower as the temp and dew get closer together. Is that what some of you were saying?
We may see some tornados once the temps drop a little. I’m not sure thoughWhen are we expecting activity to pick up again?
I'd give it about an hour. When are we expecting activity to pick up again?
800m or below has always been my measuring stick for a very favorable LCL height. You can have tornadoes with higher LCLs.Just anecdotally, about 10-12 degree spreads, maybe 15 max seems ideal to get tornadoes that you can actually see. IIRC that's what we had on days like 3/31/23 and 4/26/24. Less than 10 degrees and you start getting grungy, ground-scraping cloud bases.
Yeah, low/mid 70s showing up on a lot of sites after that initial convection passed. The temperature is 70.0°F and the dewpoint is 67.0°F in Jackson, TN.
Yeah, I was thinking that too. I remember the afternoon of April 26, 1991 when I was a kid and the clouds were still pretty high in the sky. As it became late afternoon into the early evening clouds had significantly lowered and the temp/dew were pretty close together.I'd give it about an hour.
