And this is what the commander in chief has to say about him. Ffs, he and his wife were likely murdered by their son and this is what he says.

People were fired from their jobs and hunted down for saying much more tame things about Charlie Kirk and even just quoting the guy.

Usually, out of context, but I agree.

But is anyone really surprised?

At least many on the right have denounced what Trump said and offered their condolences. That can't be said for most on the left when Charlie Kirk was assassinated. One notable exception was.......Rob Reiner.

I loved Rob Reiner. If I allowed political leanings to dictate my entertainment, I wouldn't be entertained very often. I can separate the two for the most part (Stevie Nicks has really ruined Fleetwood Mac for me lately). With all the great movies Reiner directed, nothing will live up to his role in All In The Family. Archie vs Mike might be the greatest TV rivalry in history. Even better than Boss Hogg vs the Dukes!

Seeing rumors and talk that Trump's announcing war against Venezuela tonight in his address to the nation at 9pm tonight.
Anything to distract from the files, eh?

I'm not a conspiratorial person but I find it ironic that the files are supposed to be released later this week or next week, and he just-so-happens to start some conflict to distract attention away from it.

President Trump just wrapped up his address. Pretty much just spent 20 or so minutes touting his domestic accomplishments (or failures, depending on which side you're on). No announcement on or mention of Venezuela whatsoever. Not that the lack of a mention changes the current trajectory towards another pointless forever war.

Trump says families may be saving 11,000-12,000 dollars a year next year. I'm definitely not holding my breath on this one lol. We will see albeit I'm kindve doubtful.

Compassionate conservatism is NOT extinct! :)

And this shocking form of self-censorship by a major US media giant is a big fail, thanks to the Internet and some alert Canadians (I don't know anything about the account; Senator Ron Wyden reposted this particular tweet):

For someone who has lived through the press condemnations of LBJ and also the Pentagon Papers and Watergate, this act of journalistic cowardice by CBS is shocking. And unless We The People stand up, over and over again, for free speech and other good things on all fronts that the USA has traditionally represented, the generalized cowardice will continue under an extremist Democrat regime, too.

The important thing is not what you're against. It is what you are FOR with all your heart and resources (the simpler, the better, for example, "I support public highways" rather than "I support EVs or whatever"). Declare your positive decisions to the world, instead of chasing after each and every hate-lightning-rod chaff that's spread by power player$ of both extreme$ who want to distract us, and you have helped define America for the rest of the century.

Of course, that is true of all who positively agree with any or all points in Project 2025, too, as well as of AOC and other left-wingers. But I don't think most Americans do, and the sooner that fact sinks in to extremist skulls via positive statements in support of things that are contradictory to or outside the narrow definition$ of Project 2025 or $ociali$m, -- not hateful ones that just feed the resistance -- the better off we all are.

But first the majority of us have to come out of our cocoons, even though it's not election time yet, and say what we really think of America. Without fear (or with a love of what we are supporting that is stronger than fear and mellows us out).

Each of us holds the key in our trembling hands ...

What specific things for 2026, in your opinion, can "form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity"?

Or...we can just laugh (and sigh) -- I didn't see how Dave Barry could sum I this year. He DID (and the raccoon won the poll).

Did anyone expect any of this first year of Trump 2.0? Does an American's vote matter over the post-election two or four years when the billionaire boy's club decides to take the world's 600-ton canary rogue?

Taking a longer view, there are a bunch of US sailors who, sadly and unfortunately, are about to rediscover the returning Vietnam vet experience. :(

Perhaps the most significant world reaction I have seen is Britain's: "We were not involved."

Nobody likes a 600-ton rogue canary.

Venezuela says urban areas where hit with strikes unknown amount of civilian casualties and fatalities. Also the indictment was unsealed
