Doesn't surprise me in the slightest that he would pull this now. The GOP knows damn well that the next election cycles will be a blue wave for the ages. I wonder what the narrative and the excuse will become to attempt to justify this.

It's genuinely incredible how a president of the United States can state the things Trump has stated and still be taken seriously at any capacity.

He knows his party is going to get absolutely obliterated during the midterms; he's 100% going to try to either delay or find a loophole to cancel them. Not like it would work.

I actually think the bigger problem is that he is not being taken seriously enough. It is long past the time for impeachment and the 25th amendment at this point.

I hate to break it to you, but Newsom will likely be president in 2029. Not because he's good - he sucks eggs.

I do hope Newsom ends up pissing enough people off - progressives for his perceived drift towards the center, and everyone else for realizing that said drift towards the center is 100% fake, and just a strategic move to make himself look moderate while hiding progressive undertones - to end his presidential ambition.

But don't count on it. American voters don't like to think, they just vote for their party (keeping in mind that's how we got into the situation we're in now).
