Amazing hypocrisy from Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI)

Donald Trump’s actions suggest that, in his heart, he doesn’t believe we are an exceptional nation. He clearly doesn’t think we should lead the world.

Look, America’s not perfect. But I stand with most Americans who believe we are still exceptional. Unparalleled. And I would rather have American leadership over Chinese or Russian leadership any day of the week.

Remember, these are the same Democrats whose cult leader said "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming America". No one who says such a thing believes in American exceptionalism.

These are the same Democrats who claim America is fundamentally racist, that it was really founded in 1619 (not 1776) to preserve slavery, capitalism is the root of all evil (from racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, to climate change) and that it must be replaced entirely with a "more equitable system" that is godless and Marxist in nature. These same Democrats pay hordes of money for Ibram X. Kendi to teach such garbage to students in public schools.

I'm not saying Trump or the Republicans are perfect, but at least some of them still believe "Great is the nation whose god is the Lord". Kamala, OTOH, booed people out of her rally when they claimed "Jesus is Lord".

Sorry, TDS sufferers

Just curious: are you referring to the people on this forum or in general?

Because I’d hardly consider myself a “TDS sufferer” - I don’t oppose anything and everything Trump does and I didn’t vote for Kamala in the last election. I also don’t delude myself into thinking he is the worst president in American history - but that doesn’t mean I care for him, either.

Dictators Trudeau and the Democrats cannot stand "we" took their boots off our necks. The Democrat state run media is still going and still spewing their lies and hatred. It's going to be really bad for Americans if we give them power again. Really bad if they get into power again! I hope many of them go to prison or bankrupted at the least to stop this. I can care less what others are saying about Trump and his running of the country. It makes me laugh.
Listening to various podcasts, there seems to be no end to new stories of Biden and his administration shaking down businesses and debanking business people. They forced banks to illegally debank business people whom they had a beef with through made up regulations and other tactics. The Japan Minister claimed Biden would not sell them natural gas and offered them no explanation. Just outright refused. This is absolute crazy! This was apparently part of his pay to play schemes is all I can figure.

1. The left believes that the following statement is racist: "There is only one race, the human race".
Do you agree or disagree?

2. The left also believes that race is a social construct (something that does not exist in reality but only "exists" because society agrees that it does)
If they believe so, aren't they contradicting what they say they believe in Question 1?

3. If banning abortion would increase the amount of illegal and unsafe abortions, wouldn't banning guns increase the number of people unsafely and illegally obtaining guns?

4. Some climate alarmists say we should regulate the amount of meat that is eaten by a social credit system that would punish people for buying meat.
If a new study were to discover that abortion causes a chemical reaction that accelerates climate change, would you support punishing people who practice abortion?

5. One of Bernie Sanders 3 houses is robbed by a Trump supporter and Bernie says that person should go to jail. The next day an IRS agent robs another one of his houses promising to redistribute his money and possessions to the poor in order to achieve equity. Should the second person also go to jail?

6. If a Ten Commandments plaque or nativity scene in the public square is Christian nationalism, than why isn't the big statue of Buddha that they have in Thailand Buddhist nationalism?

7. Black Lives Matter once posted on Twitter (before Musk took over it) that vaccine mandates are racist. Do you agree or disagree? Should these people have been censored from Twitter for spreading misinformation about vaccines?

We called them Buchananites back in the 80s. They have their place in our society, and were denied much of that and laughed at, and here they are now and no one is laughing.

If only they could see how the billionaires boys club is exploiting them.

A large part of at least older members of the Trumpeteer base, I suspect, would like to go back to the 80s and re-create the "Reagan revolution," complete with Buchanan, which was, in part, a counterrevolution to those of the 50s and 60s.

I don't know that any of it is relevant these days, but individuals don't change as fast as the times do, and many in the 21st-century generations tend to keep quiet and out of sight when Boomers are on a rampage.

If our institutions stay intact in practice as well as by lip service through it all and speech is still comparatively free then, I wonder what the now-young people who write the history of these times will say about it...

Heh. Trump and Putin strong-arming Zelenskyy, not to mention the sight of a man with government contracts dictating without public accountability who shall be allowed to work in that government -- such things as this pale in significance compared to those questions. Not.

Edit: Europe is rearming, not surprisingly --

Nerves have grown increasingly frayed across Europe since Trump and Zelensky's showdown at the White House last week, and the rhetoric around Thursday's summit leaves no doubt about the importance EU officials are ascribing to it.

Three years on since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Trump administration's overtures to Russian President Vladimir Putin have left many in Europe concerned the continent would not be able to rely on US support for its security.

Washington's decision on Wednesday to pause intelligence sharing with Ukraine did nothing to allay those worries.

-- and among other points in this BBC article, France has offered to be its nuclear shield.

Why mention it in a politics thread?

Because of the old maxim that war is a continuation of politics. That's reversed now. Our politics have lapped over onto the world stage, triggering military measures in other countries.

The 80-year tradition of alliance and peacefulness -- peace that has, among other things, allowed us to be comfortable and prosperous enough to maintain the delusion that distant events can't drastically affect us -- is over.

It's now Europe uniting in the face of a US/Russia combination. Never thought I'd see the day.

I think I’ve read enough of your posts to conclude that you’d be very happy if our population was 100% straight white “Christian” folks.

And my own rewrite

[Verse 1]
Imagine there's no climate change
It's easy if you try
No alarmists to tell us
All farting cows must die
Imagine all the people
Living for today

[Verse 2]
Imagine there's no COVID mandates
It isn't hard to do
No Democrats to scold us
Unvaxxed, I hate you
Imagine all the people
Living for today

[Chorus 1]
You may say I'm a bigot
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

[Verse 3]
Imagine there's no leftists
I wonder if you can
No need for a 1619 Project
Or CRT to shame white men
Imagine all the people
Singing "God bless the USA"
You

[Final Chorus]
You may say I'm a racist
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

The BBC reports another poll:

The frenzy of activity has dismayed many Democratic voters, 65% of whom said the party's congressional lawmakers should oppose Trump "as much as possible", according to a February poll by the BBC's partner CBS News and YouGov.

I like the "smuggled in a spine" quote. Wish more people on the Hill would develop some backbone.

She's right. None of this is normal.

Musk has already rug pulled a $2.4B FAA contract from Verizon, in favor of Starlink. He's also after the $42B in NTIA BEAD funding meant to connect rural America and provide local construction jobs - he'll likely get it.

Wow. Who could have seen this coming?

Starlink now eligible for $42B in BEAD funding.

They're wanting to cut costs by eliminating the preference for fiber optic, conveniently overlooking the fact that Starlink satellites:
1. Have a lifespan of 5 years.
2. Cover a 15 square mile area.
3. Have a current estimated cost of $3,810,000 per satellite, with the absolute bottom being $1,681,000 each per SpaceX numbers.

Dear Mr. Musk,

Here are 5 things that I accomplished over the past week
  • Discussed with the WEF our future plans to require the world to switch to a vegan diet (except for bugs)
  • Contributed $10,000 in tax money to fund our educational climate change video with an inseminated person who uses "they/them" pronouns
  • Helped the huperson resources dept. to plan our next required diversity, equity and inclusion training
  • Worked on a program to simulate the dire effects of climate change in 2030, 2040 and 2050.
  • Discussed how systemic racism and whiteness will continue to accelerate climate change and planned a more equitable system to be used in the future
Thanks,

John Lennon's "Imagine" is already a parody of itself lol. Where did I hear that it's "virtually the Communist Manifesto"... no, it wasn't American Thinker... it was John Lennon himself!

No religion! No possessions! No fun, either!

As long as they are conservatives (e.g. Larry Elder, Dave Rubin, Candace Owens), I don't care about their skin color, gender or sexual orientation.

I just don't like people who try to take away our 1st Amendment rights (e.g. freedom of speech, freedom of religion) in the name of "freedom" because they are so offended by what conservatives believe. While our founders did not create a theocracy, they believed America would not flourish without Judeo-Christian morality to guide it.

People also use "left-wing" and "liberal" simultaneously, but they are not the same thing. Our founders were classical liberals. There are also some atheists and former leftists such as Karlyn Borysenko who are fighting against our woke American Maoist cultural revolution.
