Most of the people came in under asylum claims that cannot be proven. You get a notice to appear and need to wait up 6 to years for a trial. Some of them never appear when they have their trial scheduled. Some are under temporary protected status, which was extended by Joe Biden. That's how the fact checkers deceive you. There's always a kernel of truth to what they say.

I've found actual quotes from Democrats who say they are letting in as many immigrants as possible to change the voting demographic. They've also said that due to the high number of abortions, the population of citizens is reproducing at a rate that is too low and they need to make up for this with letting in immigrants.

The mainstream media has told numerous lies and that's why their trust is at an all-time record low.

For example:
  • The border was secure under Biden.
  • Joe Biden did not have dementia
  • You cannot get COVID if you get the vaccine.
  • The vaccines are safe and effective.
  • Critical race theory is not being taught in public schools.
  • Critical race theory being taught, but it is just accurately teaching U.S. History
Even if they are telling the truth, it's not the role of government to determine what is misinformation, disinformation, or hate speech. George Orwell wrote a whole book about that and the disastrous effects than can result, but today many people want the government to determine what is misinformation, disinformation, or hate speech. Some Gen Zers want to make it a crime to "misgender" someone because they have so much empathy for trans people, who are like 2% of the whole population. At the same time they have little or no empathy for the people who would be thrown in prison because their religious beliefs say it is wrong to lie about biological reality. Some people like tyranny. Big Brother had plenty of supporters in Orwell's novel.

You are incredibly wrong. It is 100% false that TPS requires someone to enter the country illegally. It's the biggest lie I've ever seen someone make in this thread. You can get TPS after being here legally on a plethora of different visa types.

You should stop making claims about things that are patently false. It's either dangerous ignorance or outright trolling.

Give the guy some credit. He’s managed to do what few can in today’s society - find common ground among conservatives and liberals.

Trade wars are easy to win according to Trump and MAGA.

Yesterday Trump said "the market will boom." I guess he meant boom in the same context of Little Boy being a boom for Hiroshima's economy.

We are less than 100 days into this nightmare and America is undoubtedly more alone, weaker, and poorer as a result. When does the winning start?
 
It is crazy the number of Trump supporters on Facebook quoting Schumer and Pelosi the last couple of days.

I don't think that is the slam dunk they think it is. I know where they're coming from with it, but I probably would have let that sleeping dog lie if I was MAGA.

No more MRMS, no more WoFS, no more NSSL research site, and historical data will be crippled. If this is true, we will basically be transported to the 1990's in terms of our abilities. I cannot say with 100% certainty that this is going to happen; but if it does, its quite literally over. Our abilities privatized, our data taken, and NOAA's science destroyed.
If true, even if not fully; this is horrendously bad, and will hurt weather for years upon years, and make this hobby more difficult and expensive for us all.

Trump has disdain for our veterans. Especially those that were wounded, captured, or killed in action. (aka per Trump “Losers and Suckers”)

Meanwhile, in the streets today, ordinary people showed up. It was to some extent organized by various partisan groups but this was not routine -- my 60s and 70s news watching experience shows that.

While it didn't rival those crowds, today's numbers are amazing -- that shows general frustration among the centrists, I think, who just didn't see any other way to express themselves.

I had no idea of the numbers until I saw panos on BlueSky, which not surprisingly is experiencing some hiccups -- tens of thousands, perhaps more. The print media coverage that I saw (AP, BBC) minimized it ("thousands" and "crowds," respectively) and then went on to grind their own particular favorite grain (lawsuits against Trump and tariffs, respectively), but the pictures show a bunch of frustrated Americans.

And neither party is going to respond in any meaningful way to this groundswell -- the elite at both sides of the oligarchy and its fellow travelers are scared.

Corey Booker is right -- we as a nation need to focus, not on politics, but on people.

My impression is that he enjoys watching hot air convect, as would anyone who was anti marine-layer stability.

Not crazy, bored perhaps. Until he can see things better -- we all do, with time, and then can look back on our past foolishness with embarrassment -- the "Ignore" function is helpful.
 
Going to be an absolute bloodbath in the market tomorrow. Won't be surprised if futures open in an hour down 3.5% or more.
