Tonight was sad. The destruction I saw in the Rolling Fork/Silver City area was immense. I imagine daylight views and news will only be more gruesome.

The area just to the SW of Amory where the tornado seemed to peak on velocity scans unfortunately seems to have quite a few houses. Hopefully none of them sustained a direct hit.

Just came through there. 45 was closed due to debris on the roadway.
We had to detour to get back to our ambulance station.

This video has a close-up view of the lights that were discussed earlier orbiting the tornado. Go about 1:38 in.

This shows the object much better. Thank you. I was able to identify it in the other video after this one. That’s an incredibly wild scene. Cars get hurled by violent tornadoes and that likely could have been one. The only thing I didn’t see after the stall at the top like in the movie Twister was the explosion when it hits the ground.

What I saw was partial destruction of brick homes, ie, a wall or two still standing, most or all of roofs gone, etc.
I saw a recently built chevron gas station leveled Tho.
Do you know where this is in town? Highway 25 (Highland Drive)?

Take with a grain of salt but I have CNN on at work, and they’re reporting a death toll of 19.
If the toll from the Rolling Fork tornado surpasses 16, it would be the deadliest in MS since 1971 (Smithville killed 16 in MS, 7 in AL).
