I know, I'm the contrarian, but I'm skeptical that it's a vehicle. It very well could've been, but looked out of place IMO.

I would be interested in other video at a different angle during from the same timeframe.

I have to agree.

I've only heard good/positive things about Adam Lucio in the past. However, I'm an extremely skeptical person by nature. This type of phenomena ostensibly being captured on video is something I'm going to have to see with my own two eyes before rendering an opinion. For a variety of reasons something like this is going to require serious validation before being accepted by some -- myself included.

Absolutely no offense intended to anyone involved. I simply believe there's a high burden of proof in these types of situations, especially when a video exists that can be validated by a mixture of the appropriate professionals.

By no means do I think he made anything up or is trying to mislead anyone. But, the ultimate veracity of something like this isn't determined by one's intent or reputation. I hope people can understand my position here.

That is…a first. For me…headlights from cars visible flying around a tornado
That is intense, and if there was a person in that vehicle, they were lofted 1000s of feet in the air. :-(.

Regarding the video of a car vs drone vs unknown….no way it’s a drone. A drone would just be sucked up instantly, and wouldn’t be visible from that distance. Even with lights it wouldn’t be that large. Whatever it was had some weight to it

SPC reports page has added trees down associated with a brief TDS near Bear Creek earlier, and a tractor trailer rolled with entrapment near Hartselle; likely have had a handful of brief tornadoes in AL today

From what I've heard that was unfortunately not a drone...
(skip to 4:08 and you'll see it)

Yeah, I don't see that video as being determinative. There's a number of alternative theories and explanations that would have to be overcome before I would think the most likely source of the light in question is the headlights from a vehicle caught in a tornado's circulation.

It may very well be true; I can certainly understand how someone might deduce that a vehicle is the source. Nonetheless, I don't find that specific video to be sufficient evidence to prove what it was or wasn't.

We should almost certainly take this to a different thread, but the last thing I'll say is that if a vehicle was the source object there's a decent chance of there being additional evidence that would help support that claim. e.g. other videos or angles, an enhanced copy of the video that experts could review, potential physical evidence, etc.

I have to bow out and look for information tomorrow. I am tired and one thing I learned from the Smithville Tornado is there is usually a lot of crazy and inaccurate information the first night in a bit like this... so I will wait till tomorrow to find out tomorrow just how bad things are from Roling Fork to Monroe County Mississippi

I am sure there will be an analysis of this video, and those lights will be the source of many discussions. We can move that to a different thread if it takes too much focus. But for now, let's keep it here. It is a part of the story of this storm and those who are affected by it.

Countless notches and turbulent velocity signatures along that line in NE Alabama. It’d expect lots of brief spinups, especially as Sand Mountain does it’s thing.

Edit: That was meant to be a reply to your mention of the Shiloh rotation.

They just issued a tornado warning in Georgia for it.
