To those who slept through Ida's landfall in Lousiana, all I can say is no wonder even the NHC practically begged people to leave. The storm explosively intensified into a very high end Category 4 overnight and if I lived in that area I'd probably be dead right now.

Looks to be definitely moving due North now (4:45 pm cst). On its present track, this will put New Orleans in the right quadrant somewhere near sunset. Not a good situation.

Noticed the more northern movement and how it’s definitely holding its structure. Also, looks like Mobile radar is down

Winds at New Orleans Armstrong International AIrport gusting up to 83 mph with sustained winds of 62 mph.
