Seems more reasonable than what we are doing now.

I'm hoping you only read the first section, perhaps even the second, and came to this conclusion. (even then I disagree strongly)

As for the rest of it, I don't see how decriminalizing illegal entry into the country, while also making it where state and local officers cannot assist or work with ICE, makes it better than what we currently have. It also makes it more difficult to deport illegal aliens who have been convicted of a crime.

Edit: Post isn't intended to come across as snarky as it may seem.

It's too lenient, which is better than inhumane - which is how I see the current system.

It seems like Biden is either speaking clearly, accurately and sounding boring or he's enthusiastic, assertive and tripping over words. I'd hate to have to balance that out.

It seems ironic that Steyer and others say Buttigieg doesn't have the experience needed to beat Trump in debates or the election. Trump won and didn't have much experience in debates or politics. I think a strong personality and moral conviction is what's needed to beat Trump, moreso than experience. It shouldn't be too difficult for some of these intelligent and well spoken candidates to go out there and make Trump sound like a bozo. If Democrats want to win this thing they need to realize showmanship is going to be important when going against Trump.

I honestly think the reality is that most think he can’t beat Trump because he is gay. Given the liberal footprint of the Democratic Party, it would be political suicide to actually say it - but that doesn’t mean they aren’t thinking it.

The lady at the Iowa caucus who wanted to change her vote once she found out he was gay is likely a minority, but I bet as close as elections are nowadays there are enough who think like her that could impact an election. Personally, I think it keeps him from getting nominated.

I'm not sure it will matter. The endless histrionics from the left over every single thing Trump does or does not do will likely push enough undecideds towards Trump to tilt the election in his favor. The constant crying turns people off because they see the absurdity of it, at which point they begin thinking "well, he certainly can't be THAT bad" and will hold their nose and vote for him.

My site of choice had Trump at -300 to win reelection, but that is an outlier. Most places I have seen has him around -140 to -150 and the closest Democratic candidate is Bernie, and at +400 even he is a considerable underdog. These things usually trend towards each other once we know the nominees, but it is still telling how the bookmakers see Trump as a solid favorite.

If he does get nominated, it will keep him from getting elected.

Much like you said in your earlier post, the Dems won't say it, but there's some decent sized portions of their base that aren't exactly on-board with all the LGBTQ+ stuff.

Yes. Sadly, a large portion of the boomer crowd think a persons sexual orientation makes a bit of difference in their ability to do a job.

That wasn't actually the subset I was thinking, but yes there are plenty of those to go around. I was thinking about the Hispanic and African American factions of the Dem party. It's hard to see them having good turnout for a gay white man.

Sexual orientation shouldn't be a factor when determining the ability of one to do the job. That doesn't mean it won't be though.

I’m with you. Dems have to get turnout high, and have to focus on the swing states. National polls do not matter.

I agree that the Dems need a high turnout. Biden isn't going to bring that. Somebody with more enthusiasm needs to be the nominee to get the public engaged.

Okay time for Tupperware to go away.

Keep evangelical southerners scared to death and convince them you can keep them safe from all the boogey men the extreme right creates

I’ve encountered more “no-go zones” and felt more unsafe in some drug ridden communities across the South created through the opioid epidemic. It is still ravaging this state and the country but hey, let’s not focus on one of the largest killers of Americans.
