Hurricane Isaias

Some slight weakening, down to 115 MPH with the 4 PM advisory and 959 MB.
Yep, they said that the higher winds found aloft by the Hurricane Hunters were acknowledged but couldn't be confirmed by dropsonde. Hence, they said that Isaias may be "gustier" than usual for a hurricane as some of these stronger winds shuffle to the surface.

I hope there are no incidents with those driving to Tuscaloosa for the game tomorrow for the big game. I assume ESPN College Gameday has a generator should Coleman Coliseum lose power. Meanwhile, tonight’s Jonas Brothers Concert at the Birmingham Civic Center has been postponed.

Still wobbling a little bit east of due north as of 6 PM EDT. Will hopefully spare Mobile and immediate environs from the strongest winds and surge, but Pensacola, Fort Walton and Destin are pretty much right in the path, and the curve of the Santa Rosa-Okaloosa-Walton County portion of the Panhandle may exacerbate storm surge.

Yikes! Had a squall come through Tallahassee about an hour ago. I clocked 73 mph winds on the velocity doppler radar (very close to the radar site), and....most of the city is without power, myself included lol typing this from hotspot. Trying to stay informed, but yeah, obviously my posting will slow! Stay safe everyone!

Pier cam getting sand blasted... (time sensitive)

Eglin AFB with the best radar location.
