* AT 149 PM EDT, A REPORTED TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR WAYMART, OR
NEAR HONESDALE, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.
HAZARD...DAMAGING TORNADO.
SOURCE...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REPORTED TORNADO.

97 over 90, might as well be in a steam cooker.
That can't be real... Those are deadly temps. 15-30 minutes of exposure, even in the shade, is enough to cause heat stress in even healthy adults.

The dew point of 90 must be erroneous here, heat index for 97/90 would be something like 140+ F. Plus the surrounding dew points are high 70s to low 80s.

Not exactly, localized spots where moisture can accumulate can in fact get to these extremes, but again, it’s very localized. Places just to the south and west currently have temps in the 100 hundreds with dews in the 70s and one station as of 3pm has a dew of 84 with a temp of 100.
Overall though, widespread dew points in the 70s-80s with temps in the 90s-100s, my location in Wichita Falls its currently 108 over 64, I feel like a brisket in the oven the moment I step outside.
This is honestly getting ridiculous, not gonna lie, keep in mind theres no strong southernly moisture advection occurring, the winds are actually coming from the north into Bertha’s circulation; and the heat is still failing to properly mix out the moisture. This can’t be sustainable in the long term.

Yeah. It was 90/75 today in Lexington and I was struggling earlier while taking a walk. I hate hotter temperatures far more than I hate the cold, and considering the upcoming heat wave for the central US I’m very worried at the heat indices we’re going to see across a wide area.
