I swear, I am just absolutely dumbfounded at how astonishingly violent the El Reno/Piedmont EF5 was. Tornado TRX’s video really solidified its status for me as one of if not possibly the strongest tornado in history. It is in my opinion the strongest of the EF5s.

sure, ill post what i think is some of the worstShare away man! I would love to see what you’ve got!
Moore is up there with the strongest. The damage at the Orr Farm is arguably some of the worst documented and is almost Smithville-level.Crazy photos.
I don't think I've made a solidified ranking of the EF5s but just off the top of my head
1- EL Reno- Piedmont
2- Enderlin
3- Hackleburg
4- Smithville
5- Parkersburg
6- Rainsville
7- Philladelphia
8- Joplin
9- Greensburg
10- Moore
noo how is moore so lowCrazy photos.

I don't think ive seen pictures of there. i'll have to go look.Moore is up there with the strongest. The damage at the Orr Farm is arguably some of the worst documented and is almost Smithville-level.
From what I know, Moore, Joplin, and Greensburg are just not that incredible damage wise. Philadelphia would be lower if it wasn't for that trench.noo how is moore so low![]()
Thank you.
joplin was pretty impressive. demolished a steel reinforced brick office. From what I know, Moore, Joplin, and Greensburg are just not that incredible damage wise. Philadelphia would be lower if it wasn't for that trench.
I normally don’t make subjective rankings anymore, but i’m definitely willing to discuss this a little bit.Crazy photos.

id swap rainsville and enderlin. overall a good list in my opinion. mine goes:I normally don’t make subjective rankings anymore, but i’m definitely willing to discuss this a little bit.
Some of the list is pretty good, but I definitely wouldn’t say that Rainsville was stronger than Moore, Joplin, and Greensburg IMO and Smithville should be above Hackleburg due to the above average construction found throughout Smithville and the even more insane contextual damage. Moore should NOT be last in my opinion. It produced arguably some of the most extreme ground scouring ever documented and in my opinion should be at least number 5. The Orr Family Farm, ifykyk.
Here’s my subjective ranking.
1: El Reno/Piedmont
2: Smithville
3: Moore
4: Parkersburg
5: Hackleburg/PC
6: Joplin
7: Greensburg
8: Rainsville
9: Enderlin
10: Philadelphia
In response to your comment about the infamous Philadelphia trench, a few years ago, I would’ve agreed with you saying that it’s an absolutely insane damage indicator that points to it being deserving of it’s EF5 rating. But we have had several weaker tornadoes plow through fields and produce trenching. @buckeye05 has provided wonderful evidence about this. I am not dismissing its EF5 rating. As it was extremely intense still and deserving of it. The trenching is just not as reliable of an indicator. The tree debarking/extreme rootballing and homes swept away provide more of an accurate indicator of its EF5 intensity.
Honestly, even this list is solid. It’s really difficult to discuss a list about which one was stronger than the other. The two EF5s that have a place above them all are without a doubt Smithville/Piedmont.id swap rainsville and enderlin. overall a good list in my opinion. mine goes:
1 piedmont
2 smithville
3 moore
4 parkersburg
5 joplin
6 enderlin (interchangeable with 7)
7 hackleburg (putting this low because apparently lots of the ef5 homes were frauds. contextuals were still pretty impressive. interchangeable with 6)
8 greensburg
9 philadelphia (interchangeable with 10)
10 rainsville (interchangeable with 9)
fair, fair, though I would probably have Enderlin in the top 5, just for being one of the few examples of a DI being a clue to windspeeds of that level.I normally don’t make subjective rankings anymore, but i’m definitely willing to discuss this a little bit.

That is a very fair argument. What it did to the train and accurate calculations that were found needed to cause the DI were very impressive.fair, fair, though I would probably have Enderlin in the top 5, just for being one of the few examples of a DI being a clue to windspeeds of that level.
@buckeye05 @TH2002 @Central Ohio Wxdoes anyone have any info on oakfield's canning company? its construction quality, how well built it was, anything like that? thank you!
near the oil rig , the above ground storm shelter was said to be 300 mph proof , yet it got damaged and bent.View attachment 51637View attachment 51638View attachment 51639View attachment 51640View attachment 51641View attachment 51642View attachment 51643
