Expecting Biloxi east through western half of the panhandle to get the worst of the flooding. NOLA not so bad, at least as of now.

I wonder if Alberto will linger south of the coast long enough to mix out the dry air intrusion.

It probably won't mix out all of the dry air as it shifts northward. Trough orientation will become more favorable for deepening in the next 24 hours as it approaches the coast. But, the dry air will keep this system asymmetrical. And it wouldn't shock me to see the North/NW sides have the strongest convection.

A lot of the GFS/CMC/Euro ensemble members are WEST of their operational runs keeping part of SELA/and Coastal MS as a landfall point. That will be interesting to see how far west it gets shunted when it approaches the Gulf Coast.

Alberto is stronger than I think a lot of people thought. New center reforming off the NW tip of Cuba to the NNW of the old one. Pressure down to 998mb.

Still wouldn't be all that surprised to see this turn into a cat 1. Is anybody else thankful the track has moved a bit east? This storm sitting around for so long, a direct hit on the NOLA area could have caused some pretty bad flooding.

Greetings from the Carnival Fantasy just offshore of Progreso Mexico. We are proceeding due north in hopes of getting to Mobile before Alberto. We’ve had some decent waves which have made the sat Internet a bit spotty to put it lightly. However it is better tonight. Before we dirverted from our course to Cozumel yesterday we were really starting encounter some wave action that had quite a few people sick. This is the oldest boat in their fleet and lacks some of the newer stabilizing features. Needless to say I’ve had a blast. Looking forward to how much we’ve progressed tomorrow morning vs Alberto.

Wobbles due to lopsided convection will be important as it approaches the coast. This angle of approach along with the curvature of the coastline could mean anything from Panama City Beach to Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Wobbles will be key determining landfall location. That is a big dry slot wrapping in from the south...saved Florida from torrential rainfalls.

I have been on a cruise ship that was skimming the edge of a hurricane before. Quite the adventure. Stay safe! Don't stand up without holding on! (That helps with the staying safe part. lol) . This brings a whole new aspect to your "Got Wobble?" siggy, doesn't it?

Not looking particularly tropical on satellite. Definitely a lot of dry air mixed in the circulation. Maybe a substantial tornado producer once it gets on land?

Unless we get some convection going around the center, I doubt any location records anything close to the 65mph advisory speeds. Just go way already Alberto.

HRRR indicates some of the heaviest convection with Alberto will be on the North and West side as it tracks up the I-65 corridor.
