Getting married in about 45 minutes, and of course I'm browsing talkweather :D

Enjoy the first years and take plenty of time to devote to each other above any other person you know.

Then you will wake up eight years later with four kids attacking you. Haha. They are cute though on the bright side.

Tunica just got more fun.

This was installed by ALDOT in downtown Birmingham. I mean come on, if you work for the DOT, you should know that odd numbers (the last digit) go north-south and even numbers (the last digit) go east-west.

Here is a nice success story in sports. In just their first year of existence, the NHL’s Las Vegas Golden Knights made the Stanley Cup finals at 200 to 1 odds.

Part of me wants to say something is fishy about that. Professional leagues have avoided putting a franchise in Vegas for DECADES due to fears of the gambling scene tampering with them. Combine that with the fact that expansion franchises are traditionally bottom dwellers in their first 2-3 years of existence, I have some questions about that.

For the expansion draft, each team could protect either 7 forwards and 3 defensemen, or 8 skaters regardless of position. Team's choice. Each team could also protect only one goalie. This was better for Vegas than for the teams in the last expansion draft but the owners and league agreed that they didn't want to see expansion teams in the future suffer as long as the previous teams. Regardless, Vegas was built with basically the 8th best player and lower from each team. A bunch of 3rd and 4th line players.

It just so happened that the Penguins who two goalies who could start for just about any team in the NHL, and once MAF wasn't protected he was a no brainer pick. A good goalie can carry a team a long way.

Two key players for Vegas, Tuch and Karlsson, were traded to Vegas - not drafted. I believe Vegas was also allowed to sign left over free agents after the initial NHL signing period and before the expansion draft. i.e., players that any team in the league could have acquired.

No one predicted this kind of success for Vegas prior to the season. Go back to October and everyone was picking them last or close to last. It is a remarkable story of building a team, coaching and players coming together to succeed. It is likely one of the top 5 greatest sports stories of my lifetime (born in 1971).

Vegas looked overmatched last night but that was a hot crowd they walked into. I predict they'll look better in Game 4.

My grandson made it into 8 yr old AllStars!!
We'll be in Huntsville for several days and I pray we don't have the heat we've endured last week, or Memaw is going to sit in the car!!
I'm so proud of him, he's phenomenal at batting, playing first base and/or catcher! He's very athletic yet so smart, they are going to test him for being gifted....I take credit for all that!! [emoji23][emoji23]

The Capitols wind up winning the Stanley Cup. First championship for Washington DC in over 25 years.
