As mentioned in the earlier discussion about the tornado occluding into Grinnell, KS and the discussions on 5/4/07 Greensburg occluding, this thing occluding into Plevna might actually be worse than hitting it straight on as the conservation of angular momentum could make it even stronger.

I cannot imagine being a MET for the local TV station or even the NWS METs in Wichita and you just see that image. Has to be the most helpless feeling you can ever have, knowing that some people probably won't listen or hear your warning.

It might be occluding right towards Hutchinson and they didn't include the town in the new warning.... Why are they being so damn conservative with the strongest tornado they've seen in 20 years? Just get the warnings out to that town! What's the worst that could come from it?

Not sure if it was fully continuous, but if it was, a rough estimate shows a path around 70 miles long.

edit: the storm was 70 miles. This last tornado itself was over 30 miles. The rest of the length was from the first tornado.
