“Author’s survey of 850 high school students”

LOL.

Heh. This info would vary wildly just from high school to high school.

I'm in favor of abolishing the DoE, but that survey isn't what I'd hold up as evidence of why I want it to be abolished.

A Tale of Two Rubios

Tale 1

Tale 2

If it ever gets to the point that they are truly going to attempt to dismantle NOAA, I *feel* like Trump would put a stop to it so he could brag about saving NOAA. "Sleepy Joe couldn't save NOAA, but your favorite President did just that!"

If it gets to that point and he does not react as you expect, just exactly what can anybody do about it, with all the checks and balances that should have nipped the power-centralization play in the bud long gone?

Nothing but feel surprised, betrayed, and frightened -- this scenario has played out so many times in so many other places. I hope I'm wrong, but it feels like the same scenario now playing out in the USA.

It's not politics to me, so I'll just bow out here and get back to Earth, thanking my luck at being so old that when the crunch comes I either won't be around to see it or will be too out of it to care. Hope I'm wrong...but.

Do you actually discuss/debate topics, or do you just regurgitate whatever clever bits of info you see on clearly non-partisan websites and social media?

I could go into further discussion, but my views are not popular today and could even get me banned.

Basically America's founders said “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights...Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” In other words, our rights come from God and not the government and it was the government's role to protect those rights. Today if you believe this, you'll be labeled by the liberal media as far-right, a Christian nationalist and even a fascist.

The founders also believed in limited government and the whole Declaration of Independence went into details about the dangers of a government that is too large and too powerful. That's why they created checks and balances. Limited government was only possible, however, if the people were able to govern themselves and the only way this was possible is through the people being religious. Therefore, Liberty is defined and limited by God.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." - Paul the Apostle

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." - John Adams

“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom” - Benjamin Franklin

Ironically at the time of America's founding, the Founding Fathers would have been on the left. Today their views (classical liberalism) are considered to be center right.

Today's Left defines freedom quite differently. Since they don't believe in God, government becomes the great provider and sustainer and the source of all human rights. To them freedom means government “allows” you to do what you do, because after all they are the highest authority.

To the Left today, freedom also means licentiousness or hedonistic pleasure. That's why pretty much all of their pet causes pretty much all revolve around sex. This includes abortion, fornication, same-sex marriage, men in women's sports, etc. The only individual liberties they care about are rooted in sexual libertinism. The government is needed to protect their rights to do these things. Anyone who opposes these rights is considered to be a threat to their democracy.

However the immorality of sexual libertinism also results a more chaotic society as it destroys nuclear families, which were once considered the building block of society. With more immorality, more and more government is needed not only to restrain the chaos, but to protect their rights to sexual libertinism and punish or re-educate anyone who disagrees with them.

The Left today prefers equality of outcome (equity) over equality of opportunity ("all men are created equal") and that idea comes from no one other than Karl Marx himself. Once again a powerful government is required to redistribute everything in order to create this equality of outcome that they desire. They have false fantasies that once this so-called equity is achieved, government will wither away and everyone will finally get along in Kumbaya.

If you listen to the Left, some of them will say America is the worst thing that ever happened in history and that the Native Americans lived in perfect peace before the colonists came and destroyed life forever.

Finally since the left and right define freedom so differently, America is more polarized than ever before. It's no wonder the Democrats believe Trump would end American democracy as we know it and the Republicans said the same about Kamala Harris.

The overwhelming majority of members here (at least the ones they visit the political forum) are conservatives/Republicans. Most of us are just smart enough to know that Trump is not the leader we want nor the leader we need.

Another thing to note is the use of the words “their Creator”, and not “The Creator.”

Further, I would say regulating “hedonism” is big govt. I want the govt out of my bedroom as well as my business.

Just a couple of things I noticed about your post. I prefer small govt. To me, that means I want them out of my religion and private life too.

Nor is he Conservative. I used to say he was not Republican, but he has redefined what it means to be a Republican the same way Clinton redefined what it meant to be a Democrat.

Neither party are true to their roots.

Trump's approval rating is actually at a record high. He has some character flaws of course, but he's relentless in fighting back against the left.

There's only three monotheistic religions with a single Creator: Judaism, Christianity and Islam - in the Koran it says women are inferior to men. The Bible does say "Wives, submit to your husbands" but it also requires husbands to "love their wives as Christ loves the church". The church is the body of Christ and Christ is the head of the body, and the head of the body in this analogy is not superior to the body. When Paul wrote that, sexism was much, much worse than it is today. It was pretty much a universal belief that women are inferior to men.

John Adams also said "The Bible contains the most profound Philosophy, the most perfect Morality, and the most refined Policy, that ever was conceived upon Earth. It is the most Republican Book in the World, and therefore I will still revere it. The Curses against Fornication and Adultery and the prohibition of every Wanton glance or libidinous ogle at a Woman, I believe to be the only System that ever did or ever will preserve a Republic in the World."

Christian Nationalism?

I'm not sure how he's not a conservative. He definitely has some character flaws and makes a lot of mean tweets, but his border policy is not that strict. Bill Clinton used to be in support of a border wall and spoke against "illegal immigrants" before that term became offensive and politically incorrect.

Obama is the one who pushed the Democrats towards their woke neo-Marxist, Anti-American exceptionalism stance. As he promised, he fundamentally transformed America.

Not all conservatives are religious right, but they're pushing back harder than ever with all the attacks from the left. There used to be a time pro-lifers were not imprisoned for praying in front of abortion clinics, Christian bakers would not be arrested for refusing to make a cake for a same-sex wedding or people were not considering laws to imprison people who "mis-gender" someone.

Their creator doesn’t care about the three major monotheistic religions. It can mean many different things to many different people.

That’s why it’s perfectly fine that John Adam’s was a Christian. Other founding fathers struggled with their religion. Further, they intended total religious freedom for Americans. As a matter of fact, the Treaty of Tripoli signed in 1792 states:

Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion;

This treaty was read aloud on the senate floor and ratified unanimously.

Interestingly, it was signed by the subject of your post, John Adams.

He’s not a conservative because he spends very liberally.

I’m not aware of any bakers that were arrested, sued? Definitely.

Outstanding work Elon is doing for free. Amazing times we live in.
