Winter Threat January 18-24 do ya wanna build a snowman??

Well moisture is moisture, and that's what we need. Next several hours will be interesting. We get an actual fix on the low position yet? Movement/direction?
The Hurricane Hunters' data was assimilated into the 0z runs of the models. Doesn't exactly answer your question, but yeah.

Sitting off the coast of Brownsville. Ish.

Midnight tonight??
On radar only I'm afraid - not likely any making it to the ground for a good while after that (if at all) in North Central AL. But, surprises do happen.

So are we expecting this to track further north than the models anticipated? Would love the (outside) possibility of getting some snow in Oktibbeha County.

Are you in MS? @Geno Demopolis 27/7 at 11 pm or 43%. My bad, I needed to refresh the screen. That's not bad but others have mentioned how dry the mid-layers are.

Birmingham is 20/4/50% at 11 pm. @Blountwolf So down here isn't that dry should the snow get here. Above us may be a different story. But as Richard said things could change before the snow could arrive. Hopefully the Gulf of Mexico will help us!

0z Euro (with the HH data) is pretty similar to the model consensus building.

There has got to be some ground truth with this....View attachment 33244

mPING reports seem to somewhat confirm the radar returns at least south of Jonesboro, LA. Definitely a lot of snow reports once you get south of Natchitoches. RH values seem to increase as you go further west and south in Lousiana. I am sure GOA* moisture getting pulled up will help to moisten areas further to the north.

*Simply trying to avoid federal prison. I prefer the old name.

imo, i think there’s a little wishcasting going on.

i’d temper expectations on i-20 corridor. a little virga doesn’t mean the snow is gonna make it 100 miles north.

good luck to south alabama… up to us-80
We agree things are against us. But we still hope the models wind up wrong.
