Just went tornado warned. That storm I was talking about looks to be really getting it's act together. Might end up being trouble when it gets on land.

Is it just me or are all of these storms hell-bent on taking direct aim at radar sites?Just went tornado warned.
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was.Is it just me or are all of these storms hell-bent on taking direct aim at radar sites?
I'd be shocked if they fell apart before hitting land. There's no less than three rotating cells south of the Wilmington radar:

Imagining Reed Timmer out there chasing those in a Dominator boat that looks like the USS Monitor or something
I think the best case scenario is that the main line pushes offshore and eats them before they get to land but I'm not sure if that'll happen. They're moving away from the best instability but they've still got 1000-1500 J/kg to work with in a really strongly-sheared environment (400+ m2/s2 ESRH) so yeah no reason they can't keep going for a while.I'd be shocked if they fell apart before hitting land.
Mere miles out from this being one of the more destructive outbreaks we've seen in a long time. Fascinating stuff. The one due southeast of Southport is wrapped up tight. I'm getting NROT readings of 2.67 from it:
