This was the tornado that hit the small town of Cottonwood. Article says homes are destroyed, roads are impassible, and crews are going door to door checking on people. Not surprising unfortunately, as a major TDS and couplet went over that town. No damage photos on social media yet though.Unfortunately, 1 fatality reported from the Dothan area.

One person died Tuesday morning when a devastating tornado struck southern Houston County, multiple sources confirmed to News4.

Yeah that's not great, Claxton is a decent-sized town (about 2,500 people). That one might end up uncomfortably close to Statesboro (where Georgia Southern University is) if it stays down. That's the largest city in that area (~35K people), not terribly far from where I grew up.
Thankfully both circulations have weakened, but these things just keep popping up and rapidly intensifying. Could be a long day today.
Yeah I don't envy the NWS guys in Columbia and Charleston who get to spend their afternoons playing whack-a-mole.
Tornado warning for Myrtle Beach, and other cells behind it look even more threatening. I had some questions about the potential for discrete activity, but its clearly verifying.
Heard reports of mobile homes damaged or destroyed in that area, but I don't remember there being a tornado warning or strong circulation up that way. Could this have possibly been straight line winds or was it definitely tornadic?
