Storm-Net's AI model for 3-hour Tornado Probabilities are getting quite elevated near the MS Gulf Coast. Concerning, given the sounding near Slidell shown.

Here's the full observed sounding from LIX (Slidell Louisiana) at 18z. It's pretty crazy. STP is essentially EF4+ range. Hodograph is super curved. Yeah let's hope nothing is able to tap into that.

I wonder, once the radar is operational in Hammond, are they going to start doing the balloon launches from there as well to keep them consistent with the VWPs?

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Southeastern Marion County in south central Mississippi...
Central Lamar County in southeastern Mississippi...

* Until 515 PM CST.

* At 409 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Pine Burr, or 11 miles southeast of Columbia,
moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

Baxterville and Pine Burr around 415 PM CST.
Purvis and Pine Ridge around 425 PM CST.
Hattiesburg around 430 PM CST.
Oak Grove around 435 PM CST.
