Winter Weather/Extreme Cold Threat 1/13-1/17

Yeesh, north Cullman county was where I was hovering over the HRRR ZR map. That's a big 'ole nope.

26 and freezing rain now. Just had a pretty decent downpour that immediately froze. Ice hanging off of roof and vehicles.
Where please?

It is interesting to note that temperatures south of the Arctic front have warmed up a bit more than forecast today. For example, Anniston is at 57° right now, and the NWS forecast was 50°. It will be interesting to see how quickly temperatures cool later today and this evening.
This. Reached 54 yesterday and almost 60 today. I am not sure how much frozen precip we will get in East Alabama. A long way to go with air temps and even more so with temps on pavement. I could see bridge icing, etc. in the extreme Eastern counties, but I am not sure if there will be more than that.

I'm above the Falls, on the brow of the mountain here in Gadsden. Have NO idea what to expect. Any ideas? I know we are above a "magic number" of elevation up here, but don't remember what that was.
