Winter threat: 1/9-12/ 25

It used to account for everyone. It used to be provided by the Georgia Public Utilities Commission and not Georgia Power directly. I'm not sure when it changed.

The good: A nice little event for most folks until about 11am.

The bad: It’s a steady rain in South Huntsville.

I’m hopeful we get another system Presidents’ Day that brings snow to the SE.

I think roads will be good for Huntsville south by tomorrow afternoon.
Agreed, wonderful event this morning. I'm in south Huntsville too and the roads have been superb considering everything. City did a good job clearing the snow. Cruised through Bailey Cove to Cecil Ashburn, climbed the rocks up the mountain then went to the bottom at the Curch of the Nazarene and did the loop trail. Safe drive, I wouldn't do it again tonight though after the freeze.
We don't get to do this very often, it's such a sight for sore eyes, and the white out gave me sore eyes. Couldn't get enough of the snow though!

Gotta watch out for that snow blindness!

Numerous outages, especially across the southern ATL metro. 100K+ customers, and will likely get worse tonight. Everything has turned into sheets of ice, including the roads, neighbors' driveways and porches and decks.

Really surprised this precip is sticking around so much. Still getting light freezing rain here.

I just measured, and I have 0.17" of freezing rain just south of Decatur, GA. Some power flickers for me, but not a total outage yet.

The ice is sticking around, and there are major outages just miles to our south, but for now the lights stay on.

0.25-0.5" of ice covering everything this morning. Some gradual melting, but not much. Thankfully, no power outages, although lots of people in the south and east metro did not fare as well.
