Winter threat: 1/9-12/ 25

Y'all. Check this out. A friend just texted me asking about this. Current forecasted position of Gulf low Friday vs. January 2011 vs. February 2015. With exception of Gulf lows in 2011 and 15 a little bit east, all three are very similar In regards to position. Very interesting

Yep, it's all about position and strength of the low - and those are good examples of getting good snow from a low in the gulf. Deeper in the gulf with lower pressure = bigger winter storm.

Voldemort was a 996 coming onshore around Pensacola. Unless something nuts happens and we get bombogenesis, ours will be nowhere near sub 1000.

18Z Goofus throws Bham's eastern suburbs some bonus snow, and has jumped aboard the ATL Ice Storm train.

What Spann is doing right now LOL!

LOL - yeah, the ensemble is not bringing clarity. Every solution from a foot of snow to nothing.
