Do you think this winter is going to continue the crazyness of 2020 or do we finally break free?

Where? I'm not seeing any single digits in the southeast on the latest GFS run.

This was the run I was referencing when I made the post last night. I see the GFS has turned warmer in today's runs thank goodness

Ok, a good bit further northwest than Georgia.

GFS is calling for single digit lows early next week. It hasn't been that cold in years. Wonder if this will come to fruition?
Almost made it... had a low of 11° at my house

Guys... out here in north Texas, we got our butt handed to us with the storm Saturday. 3-6" of snow, then coldest air since 1949 this morning. Power has been scarce.. most of the people of Texas are pretty pissed off about it. My house got down to 52 inside this morning. We got power back at 2:08p this afternoon after it went out at 7:45 last night. Tonight.. its another round of snow and or sleet/freezing rain but its warming up to 19! This has been the coldest weather I have ever experienced. Good luck with this crap moving East. They are forcasting 65 on Tuesday!

Glad you got your power back on. My son and his wife live in Austin and they've been without power or 45 hrs and now their pipes have burst and they have no water either. It may be several more days before their power is restored and no telling when they can get a plumber out to repair their pipes and get their water back on

One week ago it was -20 here in Fayetteville, today it is 72 which means in a week we have had a 90-degree temperature swing. For additional context, there is still ice floating in the pool and snow piled up around town in parking lots. Geez

It got up to 50 here and will be in the 60s tomorrow. Hopefully it'll melt the rest of this lingering snow.

Only five more days of meteorological winter!

We are going to bump 80 tomorrow after 70's the last two days. Still have people without water.

On February 15th wind chills in the minus 50s were observed in the CO, KS, NE Tripoint. Haigler, Nebraska reported a WC of -53F. Haigler is 1/2 mile from the Kansas border. Though no official reading it is safe to assume wind chills in the minus 50s were also in extreme NW KS, and ENE CO. Crazy to think I had a high of 72F in my area today after being -20F a week ago.

Here in SoCal we're expecting a major impact Santa Ana wind event tomorrow (literally 3 days after the previous event that peeled insulation and pieces of wood from a neighbor's outbuilding, the pieces ended up in our backyard). For the first week of March the 8-14 day outlooks are favoring below-average temperatures and a neutral probability for precipitation. Gives me a glimmer of hope as March (although not a month in meteorological winter) is still a critical month in terms of precipitation and the overall water year has been a disappointment. Time will tell I suppose, though the overall outlook for the month isn't looking very promising.

I talked with a farmer and a lady who were on the Kansas side in the far NW quadrant of Cheyenne County Kansas and they both told me temperatures were around -25F to -27F and winds were blowing around 15 to 25 mph. This was again on February 15th between the hours of 12:00-8:00 am. That puts the wind chill factor in the minus 50 to minus 60 range. Crazy for so late in the season.
