This time yesterday it was 60F here well above the norm. It's16F right now about equally below the norm.

The last ones hit Washington State the hardest, with multiple levee failures reported around Seattle, but these will come a bit further south -- over us.
The ground has been saturated here since, oh, November? Maybe earlier, but I think we had some drier spells then, too.

Interesting FD this morning from Portland. As always, it teaches me so much about weather and that sinks in because it is happening all around me.
Remember -- this is a geographic area where chances for snow are discussed in elevation terms, not temperature. We actually have palms of various sorts and magnolias growing in town -- the magnolias don't thrive as well as they do in the South, of course, but they're not struggling, either. AFAIK, no one really knows for sure why the Willamette Valley is so temperate at this latitude.
Anyway, they had predicted winter weather here but changed it to rain in the forecast a few days ago and that seems to be verifying, thankfully.
There will be flooding but probably not here, at least on the Willamette. Nearby Philomath will probably see some. They often do in these situations, and that might slosh over into South Corvallis, too.
This would be an especially bad time for a major quake, because of liquefaction and absolutely saturated ground.
