Svr Wx threat April 1-April 2 2024

It’s just surprising he’s already calling the environment in Ohio inadequate when the moist unstable airmass is still actively moving into that area.
Jumping the gun isn’t always a bad thing, but at least wait until it’s obvious.
it was raining at 18z, and the destabilization occurred afterwards. if they did a balloon launch at, say, 21z, i think it would look noticeably different.

Sickle city across much of the area.

I'm just going to tell everyone right now: wait until the storms move into those large hodographs to the east before calling anything.

Also it's 71/64 at Covington KY (Cincinnati) with a southerly surface wind. At least SW OH is probably going to be under threat here. Just because the 18z sounding looked benign doesn't mean that it can't improve drastically 4-5 hours later.

Reed currently live streaming in position for a possible tornado on a storm that is not even severe warned

Edit: now tornado warned, better late than never I guess....

How are things looking for North Alabama? I have been out of pocket on this event.

Favorable. Likely to get rough for some. Messy bunch of storms, severe ones will have winds, couple of tornados possible.
