Also about your Marsh Harbour question, I did find photos of a wind-related leveled home but I have been unable to find photos of a wind-related slabbed home in the area.

This is the one I was thinking of. Not as clean of a sweep as I remember. Still extremely impressive.

Oh wait is this what you are talking about?
No, but that one is even more impressive in terms of how clean the slab is.

Damage from Hurricane Irma in Barbuda.

Those two side by side homes leveled down to their slabs is some of the most high-end hurricane wind damage I've ever seen. That one in the foreground is anchor bolted too, albeit kind of widely.

Catastrophic vegetation damage at Biscayne National Park in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew.

I think it's worth noting that coral was also devastated by Andrew's wrath.

Damage from Irma in Tortola. The tree damage is very intense though the structural damage from the wind doesn't seem very intense.

The wind damage from Typhoon Haiyan was extreme. Large concrete buildings collapsed, palm trees were snapped and defoliated, and other types of trees were debarked. Cars were reportedly picked up and thrown.

Hurricane Harvey is one that interests me quite a bit from a wind damage perspective. Harvey was a marginal Cat 4, with winds of 130 MPH. However, the wind damage it produced in Rockport seems consistent with a more intense hurricane. Multiple homes, apartment buildings, and businesses were totally destroyed by the eyewall winds, some of which were leveled, and cars were thrown. I believe that this is likely a result of unusually intense, tornado-like mesovortices within Harvey's eyewall, which produced tornado-like damage and wind gusts well above Harvey's sustained wind speed and expected gusts.

All the damage below is from wind alone. The brick apartment complex in the last two photos sustained damage that was particularly tornado-esque.

DOW confirmed this damage was due to tornado-scale vortices.

Yeah that study is incredible, especially the DOW imagery. I can only confirm the picture with the collapsed cinder block building and vehicles was due to a TSV, as it was mentioned in the study as an example. It is likely that most of, if not all the other photos are of damage enhanced by TSVs though.

More views of the extreme structural wind damage from Haiyan. The concrete structure was reinforced too. Also even though the official peak wind speed of Haiyan is 195 mph, sources such as radar & advanced Dvorak technique suggest a true max intensity of ~202 mph.

These damage all located in Leyte Island, which was the second landfall, rapidly weakening from the first landfall and prior peak intensity.(12-13z). Some of them even in the South eyewall and Haiyan moving at 22-23kt.
Here is an interesting analysis for the radar observation problem of Haiyan.

Wind damage on Samar where it initially made landfall. I can't find much on structural related wind damage in this area.

Haiyan's violence is mind boggling. Nothing else quite compares. While officially, maximum sustained winds were 170 knots, it's not hard to imagine they easily exceeded 175 knots, much like Patricia.
