These last few days have had some sneaky tornadoes. This came outta nowhere, as well as the St Louis EF3 that looked like junk literally a scan before a strong tornado was OTG doing major damage in the metro.

The coverage of storms still looks low for the DFW metroplex this evening but will be higher to our north. Still, stay weather aware! Any storm that does develop will have the potential to become severe.

Also off topic but I love how I made a whole post stating that yesterday made up for all the "Night Wedges Incoming" events last year.....and then it turned into a "Night Wedges Incoming" event. At least there was some daylight activity this time.

Would be very surprised if it stays on the ground all the way into Hartshorne, but we've seen crazier things happen the last few days

Either Alderson or Hartsthorne is gonna take a direct hit if this thing stays on the ground.

That cell is gonna drop another big tornado to the southeast if it continues. It’s got clear air flowing in.

Embedded violent tornadoes are a rare occurrence, and usually need extreme kinematics to occur, or a mesoscale interaction.
Or both.

The supercell to its south is reinforcing the RFD enough to where the inflow notch of the tornado producing supercell is actually forced up against the RFD push. Which is what induced the tornado genesis.

I can't think of a single tornado embedded in a line that was given a violent rating ever, although I'm sure there has been. What notable examples exist of an QLCS violent tornado?
