Severe Weather Threat May 17-19, 2025

View attachment 42345
I apologize, I’m on mobile so I’m not sure how large this will be, but this is the AFD discussion from Ft Worth as of about 6:40 PM. As of the moment, the tornado watch hasn’t been extended east. The mets may just be waiting to see what happens.
Looks like per NWS the further east this goes the more it will weaken

Grinnell definitely took a devastating hit, spoke to soon about the dissipation.

What likely happened was that the tornado weakened in the upper portions but remained strong in the levels undetected by radar since it was in a bit of a radar hole

That honestly looks high end EF3, low to mid EF4, depending on how well constructed the houses were built.

So, why would that one not drop a violent tornado? Just saying it now…to me, it has no reason not too. So if it doesn’t, I’ll be very confused.
