yeah, the local co-op is having to call in contract crews because of all the broken pole across the county.

Wondering if the east Mississippi portion will be a tornado watch instead of severe watch.

WELL. Never speak too soon about a storm being less spicy than expected I guess; spent the evening in a bit of a crisis with a large tree taking the fence down at the farm. North side of Jasper is a mess. Trees down on Arkadelphia Road, E Ridgewood Road, Redmill Saragossa Road, Wells Loop, etc etc etc with lines down as well and quite a few power outages. Glad to have missed that at the house, but didn't expect for four hours of emergency chainsaw and fence work to be my evening

Makes you wonder a little? But with the low level helicity/shear being modest, like some other events of late, there may be enough spacing to include all of North MS. I'll guess we'll see.

CENTRAL UNION COUNTY...

At 624 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
significant tornado was located 6 miles east of Gladstone, or 30
miles south of Des Moines, moving southeast at 25 mph.

This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!

HAZARD...Damaging tornado and golf ball size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris
may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile
homes will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes,
businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete
destruction is possible.
