Severe Weather Threat 5/25-5/26, 2024

James Spann just said within the last week or so he was almost sure "we could 'stick a fork' in AL's Tornado season." Who would've thought it could've blown up right at the very tip end? Hopefully he still turns out right. Obviously things are bad really close right now though. I know he'll never say that again.

Tornado Season across Dixie Alley is basically October thru May (outside of any tropical activity in June thru November)

I know & we're right at the end of May. And at the time he/we didn't see any storm systems that he thought would affect us. Obviously over a few days that changed. Given this was 7 days ago when things actually DID look like they could be done for us.

most April tornadoes since 2011, most may tornadoes since 2019 (almost 600). Most confirmed tornado april/may period since 2019. After this weekend we’ll prob hit 400 ish for may total confirmed, then 327 in April.

HUN issues Severe Thunderstorm Warning [wind: 60 MPH (RADAR INDICATED), hail: 1.00 IN (RADAR INDICATED)] for Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison [AL] and Lincoln [TN] till 1:30 AM CDT

I don't like the looks of this. Broken line with isolated/scattered storms trying to form out ahead

WKYT reporting on-air that a covered slip roof collapsed at a marina on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky and there are entrapments.
