Severe WX Severe Weather Threat 3/14-3/16

Exact placement varies from run to run, but the HRRR is alarmingly consistent with at least two, some runs up to four gnarly tornadic supercells tracking through the mid-lower MS Valley (southern MO/IL, northern to central AR, northwest MS, west TN/KY) well after dark tonight.

I think the most alarming aspect of the Saturday forecast is that the hatched tornado risk area encompasses 25,000,000 people. It's impossible to understate just how many peoples' lives this system has the potential to change forever. The high risk area may seem small, but it's covering over 2.7 million people. For reference, that's more than the entire population of Chicago.

Alabama and Mississippi have been hit hard in the past, and they learned from it by building community storm shelters all over the place.

Please share this link as much as possible to people in the affected areas. No matter how bad this outbreak ends up being, it is survivable, and lots of people may not know about the resources they have available to keep them safe. I can't imagine how many people in high density and underdeveloped communities are feeling intense fear and dread right now. It's important we use the power of social media to spread helpful information in any way we can.

So glad they have more shelters now. Unfortunately it’s hard to get 0 fatalities with violent tornadoes in this area..
