Severe WX Severe Weather Threat 3/14-3/16

Been over a week since this event occurred and I am still very impressed by the overall magnitude of it. Both days easily verified a high risk and in my opinion, this event will easily go down as one of the top outbreaks of the decade. As of now, a total of 112 tornadoes have been confirmed, with 45 significant tornadoes, 14 of which being intense, and 3 of those being violent. Side note, I wonder when NWS Little Rock will upload their DIs for the outbreak as it has been almost a week since the tracks were uploaded on the DAT and no new information surrounding the tornadoes has come out.

And there it is the probably nearly finalized survey for Bakersfield maxing out as a 145mph EF3 with a significantly longer track.

Ugh…
I promise you, tornados and meteorology are a lot more interesting (and you’ll have more fun) once you learn to stop giving a excrement about ratings.

We probably won’t have an accurate way of rating them until way into the future with better technology. The EF scale is what we have, and its always going to be imperfect

So Mississippi and Alabama had 3 ef3s and 1 eF4. Not bad for high risk.

People need to be better about remembering that 4/27/11 was exceptional even by high risk standards. A more "typical" day of that caliber for the Southeast would be Veteran's Day 2002, Super Tuesday 2008, 4/24/10 (Yazoo City etc VLT EF4), 3/25/21, or going back even further, 4/8 and 4/16/1998.

100% @CheeselandSkies. I’ve tracked outbreaks 20 years. Multiple violent tornadoes is upper upper end…

People expecting another 4/27 anytime soon is ballsy. I definitely wasn’t expecting it March 16. 2011 was nuts for tornado fatalities and destruction. @CheeselandSkies
