Despite only very light convection, we're getting lightning, a good bit of it too, and thunder, pretty loud. Very odd, and I can't recall a similar event in my recent memory while I've lived here.

I am in Cartersville (just south of it actually) and yes... think that is what is freaking me out so badly. It hasn't even really rained here yet. Ever radar refresh I keep expecting it to show the rain hitting me but nope.

Wow, this is a very intense tornado. I saw GTG shear of 150+ mph, this is a very intense tornado.

With how fast that thing spun up into an intense-violent tornado should show the threat of damaging tornadoes is far from over as we head into the overnight hours. That is a very impressive presentation west of Billingsley.

GRLevel3 is really crapping the bed with getting the most recent scans in a timely manner, though the WeatherWise web app seems to be working better. Maybe at least part of the problem is on GRL3's side?

If it turns right at all, it's going to track right over Clanton. If not it will be very close....

EDIT* they only use the word "strong" in the actual MCD text. Not sure if the discrepancy between that and the left portion on the graphic means anything.
