It's waning, definitely a good thing for Bartlesville considering the environment in play.I'd agree but I remember Plevna doing similar before it went insane. Started with a bunch of lethargic tornadoes before it ramped up, I could be wrong though.

IIRC, SAILS mode allows for faster scanning of the lowest tilt at the cost of higher tilts scanning slower. It's likely not turned on always because they have to focus on higher tilts as well.Yeah. I don't know why some NEXRAD sites consistently fail to go into rapid scanning mode during severe weather events. KDGX (Jackson) is another repeat offender. Is it the pertinent NWS office just not thinking to do it, or a technical issue with the radar?
