WINONA...EASTERN BUFFALO AND SOUTHWESTERN TREMPEALEAU COUNTIES...

At 333 PM CDT, a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was
located near Montana and additional tornadoes could form along a
line extending from 8 miles southeast of Modena to 9 miles north of
Fountain City to Goodview, moving northeast at 45 mph.

This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!

Apparently the NWS is reading my posts. High-end PDS warning was just issued for the Montana area tornado with a mention of complete destruction being possible.

For the ones right now or in general? Because we've probably already had double-digit numbers of tornadoes and we have another 4-5 hours before the risk starts to decrease.

I gotta say, today feels pretty bust-y when you just look at the 500mb map. Bad vibes there.

Actual comment: This won’t be helpful for forecasting, but mountains and big rolling hills have been shown to induce tornadogenesis and strengthen tornadoes. When the storm comes down the lee side of the mountain, it stretches the mesocyclone, which increases the speed of rotation. I’m interested to see whether we see evidence of this phenomenon post-event.
