I disagree. Tornado Emergencies are terrifying when you see the alert on your phone, and they come through as an urgent alert on all cell phones. They absolutely get people to act with urgency, and it needs to be updated 5 minutes ago. This is insane. It really doesn't matter either; IMO a PDS tornado warning should be treated the exact same as an emergency.
I edited my comment to better explain what I meant - I meant in terms of how people should respond at an individual level. The problem with TOREs is they discriminate between high population centers and lower population areas, but the same magnitude of tornado could go through either one of those areas and depending on which it goes through, may "only" get a PDS or may go full emergency. That's why I think people should treat them with the same level of urgency.I disagree. Stop. If you give every storm a tornado emergency, it loses that shock factor. This was a bad tornado, we have seen nothing to indicate that it’s he level of tornado that they intended to use TOREs for.I disagree. Yeah, I don’t like this one bit. Every scan is increasingly worrisome.OKC storm is making me very nervous.

Exactly. This is why they have clear guidelines and are saved for only the most dire situations. If people aren't motivated to move because they are in a Particularly Dangerous Tornado Warning, then that's worrysomeStop. If you give every storm a tornado emergency, it loses that shock factor.
