This was so funny to me, just a textbook cyclic tornado supercell just rotated 90 degrees. Turn your head and it looks exactly like a normal supercell.


Not too uncommon in the Midwest where we get summer northwest flow aloft setups semi-regularly. The shear profile looks like the one in the hodograph on the sounding posted by @joshoctober16


It is less common in the Southern Plains.
 
Looks like at least three tornadoes today with this low that's currently crossing New South Wales.
