I don't know if other weather services do this, but this is a small nit-pick I discovered this morning with IWX. They released two seperate briefings (one in their "weather story" area, and the other in a severe weather briefing on Sunday, both on their homepage). I don't know which one to follow or to take into consideration.
I do wonder if that stationary boundary or warm front just south of there played a role in this? I mean you had a significant temperature gradient and plenty of lift. I do agree with @Maxis_s that this needs a case study done though.

Sorry if this double posted the image.. still learning. Troup County. 1920!! TWO probable F4 tornadoes!! Anyone got a regional map for this outbreak/system?
When did Reed say this? In his 2025 prediction video, he said he expected a pretty active March & April for Dixie and the Ohio Valley and a short abbreviated season in the plains in May (similar to 2013 with a very active two weeks)Well granted I’m not a fan of the guy but Dr. Reed agrees. The pattern shifts to a NW flow which isn’t conducive for severe weather for us. What basis are you making that statement on? Mine is based off computer model data, and another meteorologist.
It’s posted to his FB page. I just saw it yesterday. I personally noticed the model trends a couple days ago. But if you check it out he goes over it!When did Reed say this? Do you care to link it? I don’t have Facebook so when I go to Reed’s page it wants me to log in.It’s posted to his FB page. I just saw it yesterday. I personally noticed the model trends a couple days ago. But if you check it out he goes over it!

Yeah no problem. Let me find it again. I wish I would have just linked the dang thing to begin with but go figure.Do you care to link it? I don’t have Facebook so when I go to Reed’s page it wants me to log in.
There isn’t validity to it. There are reports from “eyewitnesses” in Troup County of those numbers, but it seems highly excessive with no facts to back it up. I don’t know why that was included in that history post.View attachment 37630
This was part of the Palm Sunday outbreak (the first one, not 4/11/1965 or 3/27/1994), which had multiple violent tornadoes in the Midwest as well. I am not sure the validity of that extremely high death toll with the LaGrange, GA tornado, having seen that claim before. Grazulis has 27 fatalities listed for it.
Bit of an uptick..
ThanksYeah no problem. Let me find it again. I wish I would have just linked the dang thing to begin with but go figure.
