Severe Weather 2025

I've lurked for a LONG time and certainly before 2011 (I couldn't recover my old account and had to create a new one). Sigh. Will be watching this next system carefully as well as those that follow. Part of my job is to provide input to our local school system for weather-related decisions that cannot possibly please everyone .

The Lord's work! Thanks for all you do, and welcome again!

Well... What a storm of emotions overnight from what I've seen. I will not bring any of what happened up but wow.

Anyway, what do we have as of now for after March 4-5, @JPWX ?

March 12th thru 16th potential threat then another threat around or after the 20th.

Thank you!

This March is really starting to worry me, that's for sure.
You're welcome! Yes and I'm pretty certain April is gonna be about the same even perhaps more active. Basically now it's just a wait and see.

I'm in Virginia so this early part will be well away from me.

I thought it was really interesting comparing and contrasting the sentiments of some of the seasoned folks here with the forecast that Trey put out. They don't necessarily disagree or anything, but I do notice that how we view seasonal activity tends to markedly differ from that of Plains chasers. Which makes sense, but as a Southerner this season has me quite rustled.

Yeah. Plains tornado activity is very different than our season down here. Their season is more confined to late Spring/early Summer while ours is basically year round. Plus you have to work more to get moisture that far inland whereas down here, you already have it sitting ready to be pulled in.

We’ll be getting our dose of this on the 6th. Probably early morning to mid afternoon? I’m in central Virginia.
Any real severe weather chances? It is only February after all. I've noticed here in South-Central Virginia that the severe weather season is around July-September.

I'm in the area near the mountains in Virginia south central part.

I’d imagine the risk to be fairly marginal however. Usually with systems like these last overnight they obviously weaken significantly when they go through the mountains. I can see a more elevated risk around NC and SC. Still fairly far out but nothing to really catch your eye.

Random question, but do you actually enjoy eating onions straight out of the bag?

I do, I do. Sometimes you have to put something on them if they're old, but you can't go wrong with an onion. Onions have never done me wrong.
